INFRASTRUCTURE

With its cutting-edge clean room for embryo growth, Millennium Medical Center LLC in Dubai guarantees stable embryos that meet international standards. In addition to providing free fertility workshops to inform and empower couples, the clinic offers a separate viewing space where couples may watch laboratory processes. Due to Dubai's emergence as a center for IVF procedures, the number of foreign patients looking to complete their families has increased. Fertility tourism packages from MMC IVF include travel, lodging, and access to top fertility doctors. During their IVF journey, the clinic guarantees the safety of both couples and their spouses.

TREATMENTS

There are a wide range of internationally accredited services and treatments available for couples with infertility here at MMC IVF:

1. Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)

IUI is a widely used Assisted Reproduction Technique for treating infertility. It involves placing washed sperm inside the uterine cavity, near the fallopian tubes, during ovulation. This process is combined with Controlled Ovarian Hyperstimulation to ensure multiple eggs are available for fertilization. The success rate depends on the underlying cause of infertility and is most effective in patients with unexplained infertility, women with a cervix, and men who cannot ejaculate effectively. Success rates can be improved with monthly inseminations with fresh or frozen sperms. However, success rates depend on fertility medications, the woman's age, and infertility diagnosis. MMC IVF is the best IUI center in Dubai, ensuring optimal results.

2. In vitro Fertilisation (IVF)

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is a laboratory procedure where egg and sperm are fertilized, then matured and transferred to the woman's uterus for implantation. At MMC IVF, Dubai, experts explain the process to patients, with staff available throughout. Initial checks include blood tests and ultrasound scans to understand hormone levels. A tailored plan is developed to achieve positive results. If male factor infertility is the issue, a semen analysis may be requested, and the course of action is adjusted accordingly. If male factor is the cause, IVF-ICSI is recommended. The process typically takes 21-25 days.

3. Ovulation Induction

Fertility medication is used to stimulate the ovary, increasing the number of eggs per cycle and increasing pregnancy chances. In the first ten days of the fertile period, tablets and injections are prescribed, and transvaginal scanning is used to monitor egg sac growth. Once the optimum size is achieved, medication is prescribed to trigger egg release from the ovarian follicle. This fertile period is consumed naturally through timed intercourse or treatments.

FAMILY BALANCING

Family balancing is a process aimed at achieving a balanced representation of both genders in a family. It helps select the desired gender, such as having a daughter and a son, using technology like Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD). This ensures that only the desired embryo(s) are returned to the patient's uterus, ensuring accuracy.

Family balancing using IVF-NGS

Advanced reproductive technologies enable pre-pregnancy gender identification through IVF and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), also known as Pre-Implantation Genetic Testing (PGT). This combined method is the most accurate, with near-100% accuracy, making Family Balancing safe and effective for couples.

PGT-A

PGT-A is a pre-implantation genetic testing procedure used in the IVF Cycle to determine embryos' genetic health. It reveals the number of chromosomes in each embryo, with an average number (46) indicating a higher chance of implantation and a healthy pregnancy. This helps the team select embryos most suitable for IVF goals, ensuring the most viable embryos for successful pregnancy.

PGT-M

Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT-M) is a procedure used to determine if a child has inherited single gene disorders, if one parent has a family history of genetic disorders, or if one partner has been diagnosed with a genetic abnormality. It uses Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) to screen embryos for congenital abnormalities before implantation. MMC IVF has been an early adopter of NGS technology, which is more accurate than real-time PCR techniques. NGS combines single mutation detection and complete 24-chromosome aneuploidy testing on the same embryo, allowing the selection of the most viable embryos for successful implantation, resulting in a healthy pregnancy and a happy outcome.

SPERM FREEZING

Infertility treatment involves deciding whether to use fresh or frozen sperm for an IVF cycle. Frozen sperm has similar success rates as fresh sperm. Semen freezing is a proven and effective treatment for impending infertility. Long-term storage at -196°C does not reduce fertilizing capacity, and little or no loss of cryosurvival occurs after 25 years. However, there may be slight changes in motility quality, such as non-progressive versus progressive.

EGG FREEZING

Human oocyte cryopreservation involves extracting, freezing, and storing a woman's eggs. These eggs can then be thawed, fertilized, and transferred to the uterus as embryos when she is ready to become pregnant. This process requires hormonal stimulation and uses an advanced technique called vitrification. The process can be frozen indefinitely, with UAE law allowing for a 5-year extension, but patients must obtain yearly consent.

CANCER FERTILITY PRESERVATION

Fertility preservation is crucial for cancer survivors, particularly in reproductive aspects, where chemotherapy and radiotherapy significantly impact fertility. Before these treatments, fertility preservation procedures should be carried out. Oocyte and embryo cryopreservation are established techniques but have limitations. Ovarian tissue cryopreservation, considered experimental, has a more comprehensive clinical application. MMC IVF Dubai offers a range of fertility preservation techniques for patients to maximize efficiency.

INTRACYTOPLASMIC SPERM INJECTION (ICSI)

ICSI is a last resort for severe male factors like obstructive azoospermia, where sperm can be retrieved surgically from the epididymis or testes. An azoospermic man can father a child if sperm is recovered from his testes. The success rate of fertilization varies for different types of sperm disorders. About 80% of oocytes fertilize in the laboratory, but this is lower for patients with severe infertility factors. In 2% of cases, fertilization does not occur despite "normal" looking eggs and sperm, with the most common cause being the inability of the sperm to penetrate egg barriers or the failure of sperm PN (Pronucleus) to decondense. Egg quality may vary; the same man may produce poor-quality semen samples.
