IUI

IUI

Intrauterine insemination (IUI) helps overcome issues like low sperm count or mild sperm motility problems. Typically combined with ovulation-inducing medications, it is less invasive and less expensive compared to in-vitro fertilization (IVF).

Intrauterine insemination

When is it needed?

IUI is often considered when a couple has been trying to conceive naturally for a year without success. However, it can be recommended earlier if there are specific fertility issues.

What happens in IUI?

IUI is offered by seasoned professionals at MMC IVF with immense industry experience, ensuring you receive the best treatment.

Pre-Treatment Evaluation: Both partners undergo a thorough evaluation, including fertility tests for the woman and sperm analysis for the man.

Ovarian Stimulation: The woman may take fertility medications to stimulate the ovaries and encourage the development of multiple eggs. Monitoring with ultrasounds and blood tests helps track follicle growth and the timing of ovulation.

Sperm Preparation: A sperm sample is collected and processed in a laboratory. The sperm is washed and concentrated to remove impurities, and the healthiest sperm is selected for insemination.

Insemination: Once ovulation is confirmed, the prepared sperm is inserted into the uterus using a thin, flexible catheter.

Post-Procedure Care: Instructions on monitoring for pregnancy and when to take a pregnancy test, a follow-up appointment to confirm the pregnancy and discuss the next steps.
